Match report Worcestershire & Herefordshire  v  Buckinghamshire   W&H lost the scratch match against Bucks 3 ½ – 2 ½.  W& H girls played very well despite the very strong winds and can be justly proud of their performance against equally strong opposition. Ciara Kelly played exceptionally well to win on the last hole with a birdie. Amy Millward also did very well to win 5/4 and Lucy Walton halved her match never having been up in the match.   The losses were very close matches. All the girls played with great determination and should be proud of their achievement. We won the friendly league again with three convincing wins and even though they were having to give shots, but they all played with excellent concentration and were determined to play good golf.   Thank you to Magnolia Golf Club for the courtesy of the course and every ones support on the day. REPORT:  The Jessica Smith trophy was won by Worcester and Hereford at Cleobury in a close match v Shropshire. The three girls who played in the friendly league had to give several shots but they played exceptionally well to win and half their matches. Shropshire had 3 girls who had not played for their County before and they also played very well. Match Report: The matches were played on a beautiful day at Kings Norton Golf Club and all the girls were impressed by the condition of the course.  The League results were rather one-sided with Northants having to rely on higher handicap girls.  Both the friendly match and experience match resulted in a 2/1 win to W & H in spite of some of the home players having recently dropped handicaps. It was a pleasure to note that all the matches were played in a very friendly manner and our thanks go to all the parents for their support and to Kings Norton for hosting the matches. Thank you also to our President, Maryann Hayes, for acting as Starter and to Jenny for her help.  I am sure that Rhona will be pleased with the result which bodes well for the Midland South Finals in September.   Elizabeth Freeman – Junior Organiser

MATCH REPORT:   The League match played at Coventry produced a very friendly result with both teams winning 3 and losing 3 matches. These games were keenly fought with some very close results. Liz and Charlotte had to produce several Birdies in order to win their holes. The friendly match was won by W & H 2/1 and in the third game Victoria lost on the 18th.We had 3 new girls playing for the first time in the Experience match and these 3 have come from one of our Junior Coaching Academies at Gaudet Luce and from Kings Norton . Considering this was their first experience of match play at County level they did very well and should be proud of them selves. Again our grateful thanks go to Warwickshire for hosting the event and to the club.
